April-Mai Sampler

Tänään 31. heinäkuuta samplerini lähenee viimeisiä pistoja. Otin tänään kuvia (jee, kamera siis toimi taas :D) kokonaisuudesta ja muutaman lähikuvankin. Ja tässä teille "maistiaisia";

Today, July 31st, my sampler is getting closer to the final stitches. I took pictures (yey, my camera works againa :D) of the whole work and some closeups. Here's a few "tastes" for you;

PIF ja Kiitos / PIF and Thank You

Viime vuonna (kun kuvittelin ,että "tässähän on aikaa kokonainen vuosi) osallistuin PIFiin elin Pass It Forward, suomeksi Anna Hyvän Kiertää. Kolmelle sain ilon tehdä ristipistellyn "jonkin" ja tässä yksi pistoista, jonka lähetin Liisalle.

Kirsille pistelin kiitokseksi biscornun, hän kun emännöi toukokuussa ristipistotapaamisen kotonaan ja minulla oli ilo olla mukana.

Aivan ihanasti Kirsi meitä helli, hyvät tilat, hyvät ruuat,

sauna ja mukana oli aivan ihana porukka :D

retreat in May and I was happy to participate.

April-Mai Sampler

Tässä hieman kokonaisuutta työstä tänä päivänä, kahtena kuvana teknisten "ongelmien" ;) vuoksi.

Here's the sampler in whole as far as I've stitched it, in 2 pictures due to technical "problems" ;)

Eilisen aikana pistelin alemman kuvan alimmaista riviä.

April-Mai Sampler

Pitkästä aikaa poimin tämän työn eilen käsiini ja pistelin pikkaisen tovin. Eilisillan pistelytulos oli kaksi "kukkasta" oikealta ja alempi tummemman sininen raita. Aamulla junassa jatkoin ja sain tumman siniset "kukkaset" pisteltyä.

Tätä sampleria on vielä 6 raitaa jäljellä - liki kolmas osa työstä siis vielä pisteltävänä. Mitään en lupaa, hiljaa hyvä tulee (olenhan tätä jo kohta 3 vuotta pistellytkin on/off - liekö jo UFO... ei, vahvasti WIP :D)

It's along time since I last stitched this sampler and yesterday I picked it up and stitched abit. I got the 2 "flowers" on the right and the darker blue stripe ready last night and this morning I stitched the bottom "flowers" while on the train to work.

I've got 6 bands yet to stitch for this sampler to be ready - almost a third still left. I won't promise anything, slowly but surely (well, I've been stitching this on/off for almost 3 years now - a UFO? No, for sure it's a WIP :D )

Ristipistoilijat ryhmässä on käynnissä RR, jossa meitä on mukaan 8 pistelijää.
Oman osuuteni aihe on vapaa, kunhan värimaailma on keltainen.

Tarja oli eilen postilaatikkooni tuonut oman RR.nsä, jonka aihe on hedelmät. Tähän olen jo rajaukset tehnyt ja yksi ruutu viittä vaille valmiina, siitä kuvaa sitten, kun on oma kokonaisuus valmiina. Postituspäivä tälle on vasta 15.8. joten hyvissä ajoin tämän kanssa :D

We have an RR on the cross stitchers group in which 8 stitchers are participating.
My topic is free, just as long as the colour world is yellow.

Yesterday Tarja had brought her RR to my mailbox and her topic is fruits. I've stitched the borders for my parts and have one fruit almost ready. I'll post pictures once I've stitched all I have to stitch on her fabric. The mailing date for this fab is August 15th, so I'm way ahead of scedule.

Tämä kortti on tosi herkullinen :D Rakastan näitä värejä ja kyllä se Kirsi on minua ajatellut korttia valitessaan, sillä lempivärini ovat vihreä ja keltainen.

This card is so delicious :D I love the colours and Kirsi really thought of me choosing this card! My 2 favourite colours are green and yellow. The card says "If the sun lives in your heart, it shines in your thoughts, words and deeds".

Kirsi myös pisteli minulle saksikotelon, jossa taustassa on tasku saksia varten ja olihan siellä sitten myös saksetkin, ihanat kullanväriset haikarasakset :D

Kirsi also stitched me a scissorcase, in which the backside has a pocket for scissors and she also put wonderful storkscissors into the pocket :D

Hi all!

Ristipistojen kanssa on ollut vähän niin sun näin. Yhden työn olen tässä viikon aikana, taitaa olla reilukin viikko, valmiiksi. Pistelin tämän edellisen Newtonin kaveriksi ihan tänne kotio omalle seinälle :D Tässä kuvaa;

I've been very silent with my stitches. I've managed to get one stitching ready during the past week, suppose it's over a week, ready. I stitched this Newton to go along with the other Newton I stitched earlier and they are for our home :D Here's the pic:

Pääsenpä nyt vihdoin käsiksi RRääni. Täytyy myöntää, että oma aiheeni on tuottanut suunnatonta tuskaa - itselleni :S. Mitähän varten sitä piti keksiä "aiheeton keltainen"???? No, jotain on mielessä, joten loppuviikon pistelen/valmistelen kangastani.

Now it's time to stitch my RR. I h ave to admit that my topic has been very hard - on me :S Why on earth did I have to decide on "topicless yellow"???? Well, I do have something in mind, so that's something I'll stitch during this week. I'll also get my fab ready for the other stitchers to stitch on.

Nyt sitten huomaan, etten ole laittanut tätä edellistä Newtonia tänne lainkaan... joten tässä siitä kirjoitelma, jonka olin tuonne Ristipistoilijat ryhmään laittanut päivänä toukokuun, sen viimeisenä:
Now I notice I haven't written about the Newton I stitched earlier... so here's what I wrote on the Finnish Crossstitchers group way back on May 31st;

"Heippa,

tämän olen aloittanut joskus tämän vuoden puolella ja nyt halusin saada sen valmiiksi, joten eilisen ja tämän päivän aikana on neula sauhunnut ja hetki sitten sain viimeisen jälkipistonkin tehtyä. Meinaan viimeistellä tästä taulun ihan meille kotiin. Nuorempi tyttö sitä jo ehti huolestuneena kysymään "Kelle toi menee..." ja oli ylen tyytyväinen, kun sanoin, että meille kotiin. Liekö sitten hänen huoneensa seinälle - en ole vielä päättänyt.
I started this sometime the earlier this year and now I wanted to have it ready, so last night and today I've had my speedyneedle and just a moment ago I got the last backstitch stitched. I'm going to frame this for our home. My younger DD asked me worried "Who are you stitching that for..." and was happily delighted when I said it was for us. Who knows if it will be hanging in DD's room - haven't decided yet.

Kotona / Home

Kotona jälleen :D Aivan mahtava viikonloppu, työntäyteinen kyllä, mukavasti nauttittava ja ihanan aurinkoinen! Paljon näin tuttuja - työnmerkeissä ja joitakin jopa niiltä ajoilta (25 vuotta sitten) kun asuin Keniassa. Ensi vuonna evankeliumijuhlat onkin sitten Kälviälle :)

I'm back home :D And what a great weekend this was, full of work, a w

onderfully sunny and enjoyable! I met alot of people, from work and some way back since the years (25years ago!) I lived in Kenya. Next year the gospelfestival will be in Kälviä :D

Käsitöiden osalta anti oli tosi tosi pientä. Lauantai-iltana jaksoin kaivaa ristipistotyön esiin ja taisin siihen saada noin 10 pistoa. Silmät kun siristeli koko päivän mahtavassa auringonpaisteessa niin ei oikein illalla sitten hämärässä nähnyt kunnolla tehdä. Ja olin minä melko väsynyt, kun päivä alkoi 8.lta ja päättyi iltakymmen jälkeen, hotellilla oli puoli yhdentoista aikaan - maatehan sitä oli mentävä, jotta jaksoi seuraavankin päivän :D

My stitching was really really small. It was Saturday evening when I took out my stithcing and I think it was about 10 stitches I managed to do. Having the sun shining all day, nice and bright, it was hard to see in the evening with just a little lamp giving light. And I was dead beat by the time I was at the hotel around 10.30pm - after a workday that started at 8cm and ended after 10 pm. I simply had to get to bed inorder to wake to a new day :D

Joten nyt pikasuihkuun ja sitten omaan ihanaan sänkyyn nukkumaan!

So I'm off for a shower and then to slumberland in my own wonderful bed!

ps. my arms and my neck and my face go along perfect with the colour of my sleevless top, try and figure out the colour ;)
