Kirsi commented asking how I had dyed the fabric for my Spot Sampler. Here are some kind of instuctions :D

Kangas siis taitettu piirrosten mukaan. Piirros 5 osoittaa lankojen sidonnan (todella tiukasti) kankaan ympärille, kankaastahan tulee silloin "kurttuinen" - näin väri ei tarttunut joka paikkaan tasaisesti.
Kankaan 25ct valkoinen Jobelan.
Värinä käytin Javana Batiikkiväriä, punaista ja hieman sinistä laitoin sekaan. Vesi oli tosi kuumaa (ei kiehuvaa) kun laitoin värin beteen, sekoitin ja upotin kankaan väriin. Painelin kepillä ilmakuplat pois kankaasta, näin sain kankaan pysymään veden peitossa.
Kangas oli värivedessä reilun tunnin (ohjeen mukaan tunti), jonka jälkeen nostin kankaan pois värivedestä ja aukaisin solmulangat. Huuhtelin kankaan haalealla vedellä ja laitoin kuivumaan tasossa. Silitin kankaan sen kuivuttua, käyttäen höyrysilitystä.
Avot, näin sain kauniin itse värjätyn kankaan :D

I folded the fabric as shown in the pictures. Picture 5 tells how I tied (really tight) floss around the fabric to get the circles and to have a wrinkly effect on the dye.
The fabric I used was 25ct white Jobelan.
The dye I used was Javana Batic colour, red and a little blue. The water was hot (not boiling though) when I added the dyecolours, I stired the dyecolours well into the water and then put my fabric in it, pressing the bubbles out with a "stick" to get more effect on the dye and to keep the fabric under water. Left the fab in the dye for over an hour (the instructions say 1 hour). I cut the floss from around the fabric after taking it out of the dyewater, rinsed it with lukewarm water and left it to dry flat. I steamironed the fab once it was dry.
And got a lovely handdyed fab :D
